В последние выходные сентября 2008 в Цюрихе прошли ежегодные соревнования Freestyle.ch. Победителями этого года стали Стефан Гимпл (сноуборд), Якоб Уэстер (фри-ски), Томас Пагис (FMX) и Сандро Диас (скейтборд).
Подивиться на спортсменов первого эшелона пришли более 46000 зрителей, соревнования проходили под выступления Duality of Mind, Goldfinger и Breitbild. Отличная атмосфера соревнований дополнилась идеальной погодой. Как отметил Президент Эрвин Флюри «Я никогда не думал, что что-нибудь сможет затмить прошлогодние соревнования, но я ошибался. Freestyle.ch 2008 превзошли все, что проводилось ранее. Мы достигли следующего уровня как в соревновательном плане, так и в организации. Мы расширили инфраструктуру и программу и это сыграло свое дело.»
Первыми в день финалов выступали скейтеры. В финал попали бразилец Сандро Диас, австралиец Рентон Миллар, американец Нил Хендрикс и бразилец Родриго Менезес. В финале спортсмены соревнуются в формате дуэли. Основная битва развернулась между Диасом и Милларом. Во время первой попытки Миллар выполнил много техниченых липов, но во второй попытке Диас показал множество мастерских трюков, например 540 Body Jar, благодаря этому заезду Диас оставил всех позади и получил титул «freestyle.camp». «Не думал, что у меня хватит сил на такую попытку, но меня поддержали болельщики. Я люблю Цюрихских болельщиков и обязательно приеду на следующие соревнования.» поделился Диас после соревнований.
Швейцарцам не повезло на этих соревнованиях, Рето Кестенхольц и Маркус Келлер не смогли пройти квалификацию. В суперфинал прошли швед Хампус Мосессон, финн Пеету Пиироинен, американец Скотти Лаго и австриец Стефан Гимпл. Стефан приземлил Frontside 1080 Mute Grab принесший ему титул победителя, второе место досталось Хампусу Мосессону выполнившему Backside 9 Mute to Shifty. «Я невероятно рад победе над такими сильными соперниками перед столькими болельщиками.» сказал новый чемпион freestyle.ch Стефан Гимпл.
Уникальность соревнований freestyle.ch в «Ultimate Crossover Session» - соревнованиях полностью раскрывающих понимание слова фристайл. В Суперфинале столкнулись представители всех четырех дисциплин: сноубордист «freestyle.champ 07» Стефан Маурер, фрискиер «crossover.champ 07» Саймон Дюмон, FMX’ер трехкратный «freestyle.champ» Мэт Ребод и скейтер «freestyle.champ 06» и «crossover.champ 06» Сандро Диас. Болельщики отдали свое предпочтение бразильцу Сандро Диасу выполнившему нереальный Judo 540 в халфпайпе.
